Holistic Bodywork

Bodywork sessions are customized to each individual who I work with. I combine Bowenwork with acupressure and Reiki to stimulate the fascial network and autonomic nervous system, body and mind, to unwind, detox, integrate and recalibrate.

About Bowenwork

What is Bowenwork therapy and how does it work?

Bowenwork® is a gentle form of complementary bodywork that can help assist the body in healing itself. Bowenwork initiates a series of responses through stimulation of the nervous, musculoskeletal, fascial and energetic systems of the body. Bowenwork recalibrates the autonomic nervous system and balances our stress response.

Often referred to as homeopathy of bodywork, Bowenwork utilizes specific inputs to the body, engaging the body’s natural healing abilities.  Bowenwork was developed in Australia in the 1950’s by Tom Bowen and is now practiced in over 30 countries.

What is a session like?

Bowenwork is gentle enough to do with infants to very elderly, and everyone in-between.  It involves a series of movements targeting tendons and joints followed by resting periods.  After treatment, the body will continue to heal itself over the coming days.

Who can benefit from Bowen?

Bowenwork can be beneficial for people of all ages and degrees of health.  Bowen is beneficial for a wide variety of conditions, including, but not limited to

Digestive Support : including indigestion, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Reflux, G.E.R.D., and more.

Musculoskeletal : Bowen therapy provides effective relief for a wide variety of musculoskeletal conditions ranging from those with acute pain and chronic pain, to those looking to enhance high level sports performance.

About Acupresure

Acupressure has been used for the last 4,000 year in many cultures, most recorded in China. This form of healthcare offers a holistic approach in relating to the body to get to the source of the illness.

Acupressure involves holding of Acupoints on the body with the practitioners fingertip which contrasts to acupuncture which employs the use of needles.

This technique can offer insight and perspective as well as help the body, mind balance and heal.

This can be a stand alone session or added to Bowenwork or Reiki treatment.

About Reiki

Reiki is a Japanese technique of working with universal life force energy. It is based on the understanding that a life force energy flows through us and is essential to life. This energy can become low, restricted or imbalanced which effects our overall health and how the physical body and mind maintains well being.

Reiki is very useful for reducing stress and promoting relaxation in a person’s whole being. Intentionally working with the energy body can create shifts that have deep impacts in how a person manifests physically and mentally. Reiki acknowledges the unseen electricity that keeps the body animated, communicating and alive.
